Adaptation of an existing 4,000sf open courtyard to serve as a versatile sanctuary, auditorium and social hall.

 

The space is enclosed by a curved, translucent roof with clear glass center. The two story volume is given warmth and scale with wood paneling and stone sections.

 

Large folding wall panels open the space to its 12,000sf maximum seating over 600.

The new chapel follows the curved brick wall of the original main sanctuary. The connection from the sanctuary to the chapel roof is a glass shed that allows light to define the edge between old and new.

 

There is a new, elevated entry court with a broad, curving cascade of steps leading from the parking to the entry.

Complete renovation of a 3-story tilt up concrete building and campus site design to house a preschool and k-8. The program provides for classrooms, science center, performing arts center, art rooms, library, special study spaces and tutorial rooms, 2 kosher kitchens, gymnasium, and pre-school play yard.

 

The exterior presents a modest yet elegant facade to those passing by while retaining an exciting and enriched world of color and texture to those entering the grounds.

 

Exterior classroom corridors open spaces to the outdoors, and alternating benches and lockers create inviting areas for reflection and communication.
