The front of the house is broken down into distinct smaller scaled units to suggest a family compound. The back is a sweeping curved plane that unites the individual elements and frames the patio, pool, and curve of a nearby stream.

The new work is carefully scaled and detailed to resemble the older Cape Cod style existing residence. A series of steep roofs, attic dormers, and porches give texture and relief to the simple, saltbox forms. Exteriors are clad in white painted redwood siding. The wood materials are carried into the interior with dark wood floors, and the walls are white painted wood plank paneling. Exposed wood beams, trusses and decking give form and scale to the large, open interiors. A massive brick fireplace anchors the main space. Extensive landscaping unifies the main residence and guest house. A second phase included adding a family room and a complete remodel of the the main house kitchen.
